The 2021 Annual Meeting of The Masonry Society will be held
October 13-16, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee
at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel

 

Experience Southern Hospitality in Nashville, TN as TMS returns to in person meetings! A number of educational programs will be presented in between business meetings and enjoyable social events. Meeting Events & Activities

Arrival Day Event
Tuesday, October 12th, 5:00 PM

Arriving the night before the meetings begin? Relax with friends and colleagues at the newly opened Assembly Food Hall. The Assembly Hall sports the largest rooftop in Nashville, three        stages for live music, and features over 30 food and beverage vendors. Check out the different food & drink purveyors here. The Assembly Hall is located at 5055 Broadway Pl, Nashville. Attendees can share rides or meet in the Hotel lobby at 5PM to ride with Phil. This is an informal gathering where everyone is encouraged to attend at their convenience, but we’d appreciate knowing if you plan to join us so we can plan our group reservation accordingly. Please note that individual costs are borne by attendee.

Nashville Morning Walking Tour
Wednesday, October 13th, 8:00 – 11:00 AM

Start your morning in Nashville by joining your fellow meeting attendees and first exploring the beautiful masonry buildings at Vanderbilt University and then Nashville’s scenic Centennial Park, home of a full-scale Parthenon replica. The Parthenon was originally built in 1897 for the Tennessee Centennial Exposition to represent Nashville’s reputation as the Athens of the South. At the time it housed an art gallery featuring over 1100 works. The Parthenon proved so popular that it was rebuilt in 1930 making sure it was an exact copy of the Grecian Parthenon and includes a 42′ statue of Athena. Guests can either explore the Parthenon (opens at 9AM) and the art exhibit (a $6.00 charge is required for the art museum) or enjoy the park trails. The group will meet in the Hotel Lobby at 8 AM and share rides to Vanderbilt University. Centennial Park is directly across from the university. Make sure you have breakfast before the walk and wear comfortable shoes. TMS will provide bottled water. Costs may include transportation and the optional art museum fee.

TMS Member/Guest Reception
Wednesday, October 13th, 7:00 PM

Join TMS Members and Guests for a Southern themed hosted reception at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel for our first get together since the pandemic began. Relax, catch up, and network with fellow TMS Members and their Guests. Photos wanted!!! Since it has been a while since we’ve had fun together, we want your picture doing something fun since we’ve seen you last. If you have a TMS Cap, we’d love to see you sporting it. Send photos to Phil no later than October 6th, and we’ll have these running during the reception. This event is included in the Meeting Registration fee and is complimentary to registered Guests.

Younger Member Get Together
Wednesday, October 13th, 8:30 PM

TMS’s “young” and “young at heart” Members will get together for a fun night out on the town in Nashville. Younger Member Get Together registrants will be emailed with Wednesday evening’s details prior to the meeting. Please note that individual costs are borne by attendees.

TMS Awards Luncheon
Thursday, October 14th, 12:15 – 2:00 PM

Enjoy a wonderful meal with your fellow attendees as we announce the 2021 recipients of the President’s Award, Scalzi Research Award, Haller Award, Service Award, and Theses Awards. Recognition will also be given to outgoing Directors of the Board and past Committee Chairs. Join us at this luncheon as we congratulate and thank these special Members! Included in registration fee for those registered for Thursday. Separate registration fee applies for Guests.

Live Nashville! Guided Walking Tour
Thursday, October 14th, 2:30 – 5:15 PM

Instead of navigating the streets of Nashville alone on foot, get acquainted with the city on this guided private group walking tour. The Live Nashville! Walking Tour is a trip back in time when riverboat gamblers and Indian fighters ruled the day. When honkytonk outlaws and domineering record producers duked it out for control over what would become the one and only Music City. Relive President Andrew Jackson’s most famous duel and meet Timothy Demonbreun, the first citizen of Nashville. Come along as Johnny Cash makes history on the Grand Ole Opry stage…right before he gets kicked off. Presidents, generals, suffragists, Cherokee warriors, and pill-popping rock stars abound on the original REALLY ENTERTAINING TOUR. Meet in the Hotel lobby at 2:30 where we will share rides to the tour’s starting point. Separate fee required – $30 per person.

TMS 402/602 Pizza & Beer Party
Thursday, October 14th, 7:15 – 8:30 PM

Join TMS 402/602 committee members for a relaxing evening of pizza and beer following the TMS 402/602 Main committee meeting Thursday evening. This event is included in the Full Meeting Registration, the TMS402/602 Only, or One Day (Thursday) registration fee and is complimentary to Guests.

Women in Masonry Get Together
Friday, October 15th, 5:45 PM

Join other women meeting attendees as they head out for cocktails and dinner after the TMS402 sub- Committee meetings. The group will decide where they would like to go and meet in the Hotel lobby at 5:45. This is a unique opportunity to network with other women in the masonry industry in a relaxed, casual environment. Please note that individual costs are borne by attendee.

The 2021 Annual Meeting will be hosted by the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel in Music City. President Theodore Roosevelt stated that the original Maxwell House Coffee brewed and served in the Maxwell House Hotel was “good to the last drop”. Standard King/Standard 2 Doubles: $175 per night (available October 12 – October 15). If additional nights are needed, call the reservation number.
