| |

The 2023 James L. Noland Student Fellowship was awarded to Rhea S. Wilson, B Eng, M Eng, who is investigating the progression of creep-induced damage in masonry under the direction of Dr. Bora Pulatsu at Carleton University, Ottawa, ON.  The James L. Noland Student Fellowship was established in 1994 by The Masonry Society (TMS) after the untimely death of Jim Noland who served as TMS’s Executive Director for 17 years and was the Co-chair for the first NAMC. The Scholarship is possible through generous donations of TMS members and the friends (over 160 to date) and family of Jim Noland. It is presented at the NAMC to a graduate student doing research on masonry under the direction of a TMS member. It is hoped with more donations, larger awards can be presented in the future.
